We believe in Jesus Christ… who will come to judge the living and the dead.
“God has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
In our pluralistic society, religious belief is generally considered to be a matter of personal choice. People will say that it all comes down to the same thing in the end, so it doesn’t really matter…
But one day (and it may be sooner than we realise) all of us will have to answer for our sins and errors in God’s final court of judgement (II Corinthians 5:10). The date has already been set (although God alone knows it) and the Judge has been appointed. We know who He is, because He has been raised from the dead, proving that He was no ordinary person but the One who has power over life and death.
So this is no ‘take it or leave it’ issue; it concerns us all. Are we ready to give account – and can we really say that we have nothing to hide?
