“Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” (Acts 7:55)

On trial for blasphemy because of his testimony to Jesus, Stephen is declared guilty on earth but innocent in God’s heavenly court. His punishment (death) will be his reward: for him it will be a doorway into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, who stands ready to welcome him.
